“Kokoro of thankfulness”
“What have I to give as a legacy?
The flower of spring.
The cuckoos of summer.
The maple leaves of autumn.”
“Ten thousand miles one piece of steel”
The translation, “ten thousand miles, one piece of steel,” reminds me of the idiom, “spine of steel.” Even if we do not have material belongings, such as money, we can “go far” if we have courage and willpower. We may face many challenges, but we can overcome them by believing in ourselves, upholding our morals, and not losing sight of our goal.
