ありがとうの心:A kokoro of gratitude

There are so many things for which we should be thankful, but we tend to forget about these things, and we often focus on what we are not happy about.

We all should be thankful to be able to see, to hear, to smell, to taste, and to feel, and above all, we should be thankful to be alive and breathing. We need to realize that there are so many who are not able to enjoy those basic, everyday things. When we are blessed with basic health and are able to maintain our everyday lives, we should be thankful.

On top of these, when we are blessed with other opportunities like having good families, friends, and things to enjoy, we should feel so fortunate and appreciate them. Whenever we receive kindness from others, we should express our gratitude by saying a simple word of “thank you,” or show our appreciation through our actions. Being grateful and thankful improves our mood, our attitude, and even our life, which will lead to building better relationships not only among us as individuals, but also within society, among nations, and globally to create a better world to live in.

This is National Gratitude month, and I think it would be nice for us to show or write one gratitude we experience per day.
