初心(shoshin): A beginners mindA beginner's mind is naive but wonderfully courages.
Starting a new class, a new job, or a new degree always breeds excitement and passion. Some may say that such excitement and passion reflect a naive and simple mind that only exists before encountering difficulties that come with each new journey. Surely, as we progress, we can lose passion, direction and motivation; we can get distracted by small chores that have came along. When we feel lost and tired, it is helpful to look back to the start and remind ourselves of that naive and simple mind. That beginner's mind ignites the fiery desire to learn and move towards a clear target. -- Chu
